Our T-shaped skills are developing nicely
Situational leadership, time management, the art of customer communication. PCV Group is currently right in the middle of a coaching programme for soft skills. The multiple workshops are part of our year-round skills programme.
All of our employees follow the soft skills workshops, which are given by specialised coaches of Holland Innovative. The workshops are partly funded by the European Social Fund, in support of sustainable employability.
Sustainable employability
At PCV Group we strongly believe in the importance of continual investment in sustainable employability. A motivated, highly skilled team working together delivering the best results is every managers dream but it’s no surprise that it takes hard work and everyone’s dedication to get there! That’s why PCV Group provides a permanent coaching programme, in which every new colleague is automatically enrolled.
Knowledge sharing
Apart from the soft skills, new colleagues are tutored by senior co-workers on the subjects of our basic capabilities. Specifically it’s about the way we think and work together, so that they can adapt as quickly as possible. “In a new job everyone starts out from a different background and to develop everyone’s full potential, its necessary for all our engineers and project managers to possess the same level of knowledge of our basic capabilities”, says Leo Giesen. Giesen is responsible for organising the training programme.
T-shaped skills
“We’re quite a demanding organisation so it’s important that we invest in new workers from day one, so that everyone knows what is expected of them so that we reach our customers in unison. Our complete coaching programme is focussed on developing T-shaped skills: people with a broad experience and approach, who excel in a particular expertise, for instance mechanical engineering.”
Workshops meet with enthusiasm
The soft skill workshops that take place in February, play an important part in creating T-shaped skills. According to Leo Giesen the workshops receive enthousiastic reactions from participants. “Not every company invests in its employees like we do. People recognise that and appreciate it.”
